HHL SHOWERSTEADY

A modular grab bar structure for alcove showers. This is an ongoing project I am working on as a Research Engineer with the University of Pittsburgh Healthy Home Laboratory. Here I am ideating, fabricating prototypes, running standardized product testing, and conducting field trials of this device in older adults' homes with our HHL Team.

HHL MOBIUS

Mobius is a modular, adaptable rail system to be used in place of decorative architectural moulding throughout the home and serves as an anchor for a variety of grab bar and accessibility attachments. Here I created 8 different illustrations and 1 animation for visual communication purposes. I also contributed to testing rig development and FEA/Mechanical Stress Analyses.

IDEA LAB PRODUCT RENDERING

A one semester independent study focused on developing over 40 product illustrations and renderings to advance product development initiatives for the IDEA lab, an interdisciplinary design and prototyping studio within the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering

RERC TECHNICAL ILLUSTRATION POSITION

A position creating diagrams and illustrations of wheelchair cushion testing apparatuses for the University of Pittsburgh RST Department. These illustrations are used in educational material presenting how Pitt RST performs standardized wheelchair cushion testing procedures.

ADDITIONAL HHL PROJECTS

This page covers a variety of projects I created illustrations and renderings for the University of Pittsburgh Healthy Home Lab. This mainly include various early-mid stage projects related to stair climbing for older adults. These illustrations were used for promotional material and instructional diagrams for feasibility testing and visual communication.

NEXTGEN-ET DESIGN WORK

A start up company focused on creating a novel endotracheal tube (ET) focused on reducing infection. I worked with the team on brainstorming and developing prototypes of a tracheal force testing rig and test protocol, created educational procedure illustrations of the NextGenET device, and led the development of an initial Master Testing Plan of the novel ET device.

REDESIGNED BAG VALVE MASK

A two semester long senior design capstone course focused on the development of a better fitting and sealing BVM face mask. Ethnographic efforts, low to medium resolution prototyping, and documentation in accordance with FDA 21 CFR 820 regulation are explored in this project.

MEDE-POINT SURGICAL INSTRUCTION DEVICE

A semester long graduate medical product ideation course project focused on developing an instructional indication tool for OR surgeons in teaching hospitals. Ethnographic efforts and low resolution prototyping were primarily pursued in this project
