who am I?
Hi there! My name is Zach. I am currently a Research Engineer & Project Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh Healthy Home Laboratory. I am also currently a graduate student in Pitt's M.S. in Medical Product Engineering program anticipating to graduate in December 2025. I have a B.S in Bioengineering from Pitt with minors in Mechanical Engineering and Studio Arts.
Why is this my path? I have a great and deep-rooted interest in science, mathematics, and art. Sounds like a perfect fit, doesn't it? My bioengineering and mechanical engineering background provide me the understanding biological systems and how to mechanically develop medical devices. My artistic background not only guides my creativity through the design process but it also provides me an effective way to communicate and rationalize my ideas to myself and others.
For moving forward in my career, I am driven by my passion for the medical device design process and my passion to use my skills to help improve the lives of others. My previous Research & Design projects have given me ample experience in product development and working on interdisciplinary teams which I love to do. However, learning never stops and I plan to continue to learn and grow through my future endeavors.
Feel free to peruse my Research & Design Portfolio as well as my Art Portfolio to get a full sense of skills and experiences and if you have a question or want to reach out, shoot me an email!
