ILLUSTRATION COLLECTION

In this collection, there are various series and stand alone projects focused around my interest and passion for cartoons and illustrations -- for comedic effect, serious topics, and exploring surrealist concepts.  They are predominantly created on the Procreate app with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. This collection highlights my growth as a digital artist as I explore different ideas, artistic styles, and subject matter.

SKILLS LEARNED AND DEVELOPED:

  • Digital Drawing using Procreate App

  • Simple Animation

 Call of the Void

     Illustrated Story -- 2022 - 2024

I created this short storybook “Call of the Void” as the final project for my last art class of my undergraduate degree in Fall 2021. It was a 9-page book, old-school style—on pencil and paper, inspired by my favorite childhood book, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go” by Dr. Seuss. That version can be found here! Above is a digital recreation that can dive deeper into the colors to paint this condensed word. It also allowed me to build out Page 8 with a large list of mementos sprawling over the hills.

During the time that I created this on paper, I was a college senior struggling to figure out my life post-grad. Creating this book was a cathartic experience to make light of my insecurities and uncertainties about my future. However, during the sporadic sessions of recreating the book digitally over the 24 months post-grad (2022-2024), the project transformed into a very specific love letter to my life at Pitt as an undergrad student, from the tough parts—loss, sleepless nights studying, pressure, and anxiety—to the brighter stuff—meeting my best friends and making so many incredible memories. This is one of the pieces I am most proud of. Hope you enjoy this and the rest of my digital works.
